BMW & MINI Navigation Update Instructions

Check Your Firmware Version

Before proceeding, ensure your system is compatible. Here’s how to check your firmware version:

1. Get into your car and navigate to Navigation Maps.
2. Press the Options button and proceed to Settings.
3. Select Position & Version History > Version Information.
4. Below the map version, you’ll find your firmware version, e.g., NBTevo_P183621.

Determine the Coding Method

The initial letter of your software version determines the coding method:

• If it starts with P, Q, R, S, U, V, W, X, or Y after NBTevo_, you will need an ENET coding cable and a Windows 10 laptop.
• For versions starting with any letter before P in alphabetical order, an ENET cable is not required.
